Privacy Policy

Effective 17 September 2026. Last updated 17 September 2026.

Zati is a service operated by Ternary Bits ("Zati", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers both the businesses that subscribe to Zati and the visitors who interact with a Zati chat assistant on a subscribing business's website.

1. Who this policy covers

We handle information about two different groups, and the distinction matters:

  • Subscribing businesses. The business owners and staff who buy Zati, configure it, and receive the leads it captures.
  • Website visitors. People who use a Zati chat assistant on a subscribing business's website. When this happens, the business is the controller of that conversation and Zati is its processor: we handle the information on the business's behalf and under its instructions.

2. Information we collect

From subscribing businesses

  • Business name, website address, service area, hours, and the other details used to configure the assistant.
  • Contact details for the people who should receive lead notifications, including mobile phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Account and billing information.

From website visitors

  • The full content of the conversation with the assistant.
  • Contact and enquiry details a visitor chooses to provide — typically name, phone number, email address, service address, and a description of what they need.
  • Technical context about the visit: the page the conversation started on, the referring page, and a session identifier.

We do not ask visitors for payment card details, government identifiers, or account credentials, and the assistant is instructed not to request them. Please do not enter sensitive information into the chat.

From this website

If you request a demo, we collect the name, email address, and industry you submit. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic to zati.ai.

3. How we use information

  • To answer visitor questions using the information the subscribing business has provided.
  • To capture an enquiry and deliver it to the subscribing business by SMS and email.
  • To produce activity summaries for the subscribing business, such as a weekly recap.
  • To operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the contents of conversations to train artificial intelligence models.

4. SMS messaging program

Who receives messages. Only subscribing businesses. We send SMS to the mobile numbers a business provides for the purpose of receiving notifications about its own enquiries. We do not send marketing SMS, and we do not send SMS to website visitors.

What we send. Service notifications — most often an alert that a new enquiry has been captured, containing the enquirer's name, contact number, and a short description of what they need. Message frequency varies with the volume of enquiries a business receives.

How consent is given. An authorised representative of the business provides the mobile number during onboarding and agrees to receive these notifications as part of the service. Consent is not a condition of purchasing anything else, and we never add a number we were not given for this purpose.

How to stop. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe that number. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at the address in section 11. Message and data rates may apply. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be delayed or prevented by mobile carriers.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf.

5. Service providers we share with

We use a small number of providers to run the service. They may process information only to provide their service to us, and may not use it for their own purposes:

  • Anthropic — provides the AI model that generates the assistant's replies. Conversation content is sent to Anthropic to produce a response and is not used to train its models.
  • Supabase — hosts the database where configuration, conversations, and captured enquiries are stored.
  • Twilio — delivers SMS notifications.
  • Our email delivery provider — delivers lead notifications and recap emails.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate traffic measurement on zati.ai only. It is not present in the chat assistant.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition — in which case this policy continues to apply until you are told otherwise.

6. Not for protected health information

Zati is not a HIPAA business associate and the service is not designed to receive protected health information. Businesses in healthcare must not configure the assistant to collect clinical details, and should not rely on it for anything involving patient health information unless we have signed a business associate agreement with them in writing.

7. How long we keep information

Conversations and captured enquiries are retained for as long as the subscribing business remains a customer, because they are that business's record of its own enquiries. A business may ask us to delete its data at any time, and we delete it within 30 days of a verified request except where we must retain it by law. Configuration history is retained as a versioned record so that we can determine what the assistant was told at any given time.

8. Security

Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled systems. No service can promise perfect security, and we do not. If a breach affects your information, we will notify affected parties as required by applicable law.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within the time your law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.

If you are a website visitor asking about a conversation you had with an assistant on a business's website, that business controls the record. We will help, but we may need to direct your request to them.

10. Children

Zati is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information through an assistant, contact us and we will delete it.
